The Ringer - Euro 2016 Profiles
As a long time reader of Grantland.com, I was excited about the launch of Bill Simmons' new site, TheRinger.com. I reached out to the Art Director, David Shoemaker, as he was looking for help designing a series of articles they were creating for the 2016 UEFA European Championship. I enthusiastically jumped in and we created a visual aesthetic with energetic and dramatica color (based on national team colors and jersey colors), dynamic compositions and expressive player portraits. The work was well received by the site's writers and audience, and the tournament had some great moments. Highlights of the tournament included Croatia vs. Spain, numerous Paul Pogba dabs, Cruyff turns, England being, well... England, Shaqiri's wondergoal, and the Icelandic Thunderclap.
